Meet Melissa
Melissa Cober, MA CCC-SLP (she/her), is a pediatric speech language pathologist and owner of Everbloom Therapy PLLC.
She received her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois in 2009, and her Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Science from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign in 2007.
Melissa has practiced as a pediatric speech-language pathologist in a variety of settings for over 15 years, including the top rehabilitation hospital in the country - The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, hospitals, private practices, schools, birth-to-three, home environments, community-based therapy, and via telehealth. Her areas of expertise and interests include early communicators, birth-to-three, articulation, language therapy, play-based therapy, interdisciplinary collaboration, and feeding. She has treated a variety of diagnoses, including speech and language disorders, feeding and swallowing disorders, executive function disorders, motor speech disorders, apraxia, autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and brain injury.
As a joyous mother of two, Melissa truly understands how busy families can be. She strives to make working on speech, language, and feeding skills a fun part of your daily routines. Melissa incorporates each family’s unique set of goals, values, and insight into their child’s plan of care.
Melissa was born and raised in the Chicago-land area; and today, happily calls the Pacific Northwest her home. In her free time, you can find her at the beach tide-pooling with her family, gardening, running, baking, or checking out local festivals with her family and friends.
